NKU's Sheehan named Midwest Region Coach of the Year for women's soccer

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky University's Bob Sheehan was named the Midwest Region Coach of the Year for women's soccer, the National Soccer Coaches Association of America announced.

Sheehan led the Norse to their seventh Great Lakes Valley Conference championship this season, boasting a record of 19-2-1 on the season. NKU finished the season with a 15-game unbeaten streak, ending in a scoreless draw against Grand Valley State in the NCAA Midwest Regional championship. Grand Valley State advanced on penalty kicks en route to winning the national championship.

Sheehan was also named the Great Lakes Regional Coach of the Year in 2005 after taking the Norse to a 19-3 record and their sixth GLVC championship.

Sheehan has been named the GLVC Coach of the Year on seven occasions.
