CHARLESTON, W.Va. - The Northern Kentucky University women's tennis team salvaged a split in a pair of matches against West Virginia programs this weekend. Friday's action saw NKU fall to Charleston (W.Va.), 5-4, before winning Saturday's contest against West Virginia Wesleyan, 6-3.
Maggie Koetter ran her singles winning streak to five matches with a pair of victories on the weekend, defeating Charleston's Davina Holtfretter, 5-7, 6-2, 6-2, and West Virginia Wesleyan's Maisa Shigematsu, 6-3, 6-4.
NKU now stands 3-3 on the season and opens Great Lakes Valley Conference East play next weekend at home against Indianapolis.
