NKU men's tennis defeats Millersville, 8-1, in Spring Break opener

HILTON HEAD, S.C. - The Northern Kentucky University men's tennis team picked up its first win of the season, taking an 8-1 decision from Millersville on Sunday afternoon.

Guillaume Berman picked up his third consecutive singles victory, sweeping past MU's Tyler Reppert in the No. 2 flight, 6-0, 6-0. Berman also teamed up with Lance Koetter to take the No. 1 doubles match from Reppert and Drew Slocum, 8-1.

Koetter, Ricardo Weaver, Tyler Fraser and Jimmy Caccamo each took straight-set victories in the singles competition, while Lee Lonergan took his match with Erik Wright to a 10-7 super tiebreak in the No. 5 flight.

NKU improved to 1-3 on the season after dropping matches against Division I opponents Dayton, NJIT and Belmont.

The Norse continue their Spring Break matches on Monday when they face Brevard.
