NKU is in first place after two rounds at the GLVC Championships.
COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Northern Kentucky University men's golf team is in first place after the opening day of play at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships.
NKU finished with a two-round total of 587 at the par-72 Otter Creek Golf Course. The Norse shot a 287 during the second 18 holes to move into first place, two strokes ahead of Indianapolis (589) in the team competition. The 287 shot by the Norse was a second-round championship record for events held at Otter Creek.
NKU's
Danny Lewis shot rounds of 72-72 and is tied for second in the individual competition with a score of 144. NKU's
Steve Rickels is tied for sixth place at 146 after firing a 71 in the second round, while teammate
Ryan Hines is tied for 12th place with a score of 148.
Seth Fair of Indianapolis is the leader after two rounds with a score of 142.
The 54-hole event continues Friday.
