ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - It took a valiant comeback during singles play for the Northern Kentucky University women's tennis team to complete its run of the Great Lakes Valley Conference East Division table on Saturday with a 6-3 victory over Lewis.
With the win, NKU improves to 9-4 overall and a perfect 5-0 in the GLVC East. The Norse have clinched the top seed in next week's GLVC Tournament and will take on Quincy in the quarterfinals.
Stephanie Isaacs was a bright spot for the Norse on the day, teaming with
Jillian Sturgeon to take NKU's only doubles victory before helping to clinch the victory with a 1-6, 6-3, 6-0 win over Lewis's Bayley Brown in the No. 2 singles flight.
Sturgeon also claimed a singles win, defeating Maggie Novak, 6-2, 6-2.
