SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Northern Kentucky University's
Stephanie Isaacs and
Kristen Sunday were named to the All-Great Lakes Valley Conference women's tennis team, the league office announced on Thursday.
Isaacs, a senior from Waynesville, Ohio, is a three-time All-GLVC honoree after earning the Freshman of the Year honor in 2008 and All-GLVC accolades last season. This year, Isaacs was 8-5 in singles play at the No. 2 flight and a stellar 11-2 in doubles competition. Isaacs went 5-1 against conference singles opponents and a perfect 6-0 in doubles play against GLVC foes.
Sunday, a junior from Reynoldsburg, Ohio, is NKU's top singles player, going 6-7 on the season in the No. 1 singles flight, including a stretch of five consecutive victories during one point of the season. Sunday was ranked as the No. 13 singles player in the Midwest Region by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. This is the second consecutive season that Sunday has earned all-conference accolades.
NKU (9-4, 6-0 GLVC East) is the top seed out of the East division for this weekend's GLVC Tournament and will face Quincy in Friday's quarterfinal round.
