SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - The Northern Kentucky University women's tennis team came up just short in its quest for a Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament championship as Drury captured the title with a 5-0 victory in Saturday's match.

NKU, now 11-5 on the season, will learn its NCAA postseason fate on Wednesday when tournament pairings are released.  The win gives Drury its fourth consecutive GLVC championship.

The 18th-ranked Panthers swept through the Norse in doubles play, with Kristen Sunday and Michelle Schirmann falling in the top flight to Drury's Katia Bon and Khrystsina Tryboi, 8-4.  Bon, the 45th-ranked singles player in the latest NCAA Division II national rankings, also claimed singles victory over Sunday, 6-4, 6-0.

Drury also defeated NKU in the season opener, 8-1.
