Rose Broderick was selected to the Daktronics All-Midwest Region second team.
HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Northern Kentucky University has placed four softball players on the Daktronics All-Midwest Region second team.

April Ehlers, sophomore shortstop
Jessica Farris and freshman pitcher/outfielder
Emily Schwaeble were the NKU players selected to the team. Those four players led the Norse to a 35-20 record and a berth in the NCAA Division II Tournament this season.
Broderick, a graduate of Oak Hills High School, batted .349 with five home runs and 39 runs batted in. She also collected 12 doubles and started all 55 games this season. Broderick finished her career with 21 home runs, which is second in Norse history.
Ehlers, a native of Greenville, Ind., posted a 15-14 record in the circle and struck out a team-leading 275 batters. She finished with a 1.65 earned run average and held opposing hitters to a .180 batting average.
Farris, a graduate of Simon Kenton High School, led NKU with a .366 batting average this season. She also scored a team-leading 44 runs and hit 12 doubles.
Schwaeble, a Colerain High School graduate, posted an 11-2 record in the circle with a 1.70 ERA. At the plate, Schwaeble batted .319 with six home runs and a team-leading 42 runs batted in.
The Daktronics teams are selected by the region's sports information directors.

Stephanie West earned spots on the second team. West, a graduate of Oldham County High School, batted .285 this season with 19 sacrifices. She also scored 29 runs this spring.
