NKU women's tennis can't escape first round of NCAA Tournament

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - The Northern Kentucky University women's tennis team saw its season come to an end on Friday with a 5-1 loss to Drury in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

NKU finishes the season with an 11-5 record.

Whitney Thomas and Jenny Hand picked up NKU's only point in doubles play, winning the No. 3 flight over Drury's Anna Lustig and Valentine Lambrechts, 8-3.

Stephanie Isaacs was leading in her No. 2 singles match, 6-4, 4-3, over Drury's Khrystsina Tryboi before the match was called.  Isaacs led the Norse this season with a 10-6 singles record and was named to the All-GLVC team.
