HARROGATE, Tenn. - Just three days after his walkoff single, Brad Clement delivered again in extra innings, driving in the game-winning run for Northern Kentucky University in the 13th inning to take a 5-4 victory over Lincoln Memorial on Wednesday afternoon.

After surrendering a four-run third inning, the Norse (8-4) scored five unanswered runs to defeat the Railsplitters (14-13). Brent Wagner (1-0) got his first win of the season on the hill, throwing two perfect innings of relief.

Bryan Rose hit his second home run of the season deep to right-center field to open the scoring for the Norse (8-4) in the top of the sixth inning. NKU then came through with a three-run ninth inning, scoring on an RBI-single from Brett Cisper, a sacrifice fly from Zac Asman and three Railsplitter errors.

Clement became the hero after Randy Weinel singled to open the 13th inning and was lifted for pinch runner John Kennedy. The sophomore proceeded to steal second base before Rose was intentionally walked to set up the Clement RBI-single.

Relief pitching was a huge part of the Norse victory, as Matt Jefferson, Andy Heston and Wagner combined to pitch 10 innings of one-hit baseball with three strikeouts. Jefferson pitched five innings in his first appearance in a Norse uniform.

NKU returns to action on Sunday, opening Great Lakes Valley Conference action against Rockhurst in Kansas City, Mo. First pitch for the doubleheader is scheduled for 1 p.m. Eastern.
