KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Northern Kentucky University men's tennis team watched its season end Sunday during a 5-4 loss to Northwood (Mich.) in the in the first round of the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Tournament.

NKU owned a 3-0 lead after winning all three doubles matches, but Northwood rallied to take five of the six singles competitions to pull out the victory. The fourth-seeded Timberwolves improved to 16-4, while the fifth-seeded Norse closed the season with a 15-5 mark.

NKU's Guillaume Berman posted a 6-4, 7-5 victory over Ramazan Nureev in No. 2 singles play. Northwood, however, won the other five singles matches and advanced to meet top-seeded Rockhurst in the Midwest Regional.

Northwood's Marius Wahlier rallied for a 6-7 (5-7), 6-1, 6-3 victory over NKU's Tyler Fraser in No. 5 singles action to key the win for the Timberwolves. Northwood is ranked 21st nationally.
