Heather McKee claimed a top-10 finish as the Northern Kentucky University women's golf team took a share of eighth place at the Screaming Eagle Classic this week, played at Cambridge Golf Club.
McKee entered the tournament as an individual and took a share of 10th place with round scores of 81 and 77 to card a 36-hole total of 158 and share 10th place.
In the team event, the Norse carded matching scores of 338 in each round to compile a tournament total of 676 to share eighth place with Illinois-Springfield. Regional powerhouse Indianapolis won the team event with a two-round total of 615.
Indy's Darin Pinnick took the medal, shooting a four-over-par 148 (77-71).
Rachel Brown led NKU's team scoring with a 29th-place finish (83-84--167).
Elizabeth Fernandes (86-85) and Elizabeth Nebraski (88-83) carded matching scores of 171 to share 41st place.
Brooke Vanskalk's first-round 81 and
Taylor Wogenstahl's 86 in the second round finished out the team scoring.
The NKU women return to action next week at the Midwest Shootout from Annbriar Golf Course in Waterloo, Ill.
