SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Northern Kentucky University men's tennis team fell short in its quest for a Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament championship, defeating Missouri-St. Louis in the quarterfinals but falling to Drury in a semifinal match.

NKU (14-5), ranked No. 36 in the latest NCAA Division II national poll, got a 5-0 decision over UMSL and fell to Drury, 5-3.  The Norse will now face No. 32 ranked Southern Indiana in tomorrow's third-place match.  First serve is scheduled for 10 a.m. Eastern.

The Norse made quick work of the Tritons, sweeping all three doubles points before Guillaume Berman and Andre Correa got singles victories in the No. 2 and No. 4 flights, respectively, to secure victory.

The semifinal match was more harrowing, with NKU claiming doubles wins at No. 1 and No. 3.  Tyler Fraser and Pierce Kohls got a 9-7 results against Drury's Roman Gonda and Lukas Kriem, while Berman teamed with Drew Schroeder for an 8-5 victory over Jandui Reyes and Nadal Volckaert.

Berman was the only man to claim a singles victory in the semis, defeating Gonda, 7-6, 7-5.  Gonda is the No. 47 ranked singles player in the nation.

Tomorrow will mark the second meeting of the season against USI.  The Screaming Eagles took a 6-3 victory over the Norse on March 31.
