SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Northern Kentucky University men's tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision to Southern Indiana in the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament third-place match on Saturday morning.
The Norse are now 14-6 on the season and await selection to the NCAA Tournament. The top six teams in the Midwest Region will receive bids. NKU was ranked No. 4 in the latest NCAA Division II Midwest Region rankings.

Pierce Kohls ran their doubles record to 12-3 on the season with an 8-1 win over USI's Michael Kuzaj and Santiago Lopez in the top doubles flight.
Christopher Angulo got a point for the Norse in singles play, defeating Diego Gimenez, 6-2, 6-4, in the No. 5 flight.
The Norse will be looking for their first NCAA Tournament victory since 2004, when the Norse bested Southern Indiana, 5-1, before falling to Northwood (Mich.), 5-0.
