EDISON, N.J. – The Northern Kentucky University men's tennis team concluded the 2013 season with a hard-fought, come-from-behind 4-3 victory over the New Jersey Institute of Technology, closing out play in the National Invitation Tennis Tournament.

The NKU men took all three doubles matches to start on a very positive note. However, the mood changed quickly when NJIT (16-6) won the first set of all six matches of the singles competition.  NKU went down three matches to one after Pierce Kohls, Balint Zsidai ,and Guillaume Berman were defeated.

Jody Maginley started the dramatic turn around with a hard fought comeback against Petr Rousar on fifth singles 2-6, 6-3, 6-4. Next was Christopher Angulo, fighting back from a 1-4 deficit in the final set to defeat Erik Artursson, 5-7, 6-3, 6-4.

The stage was set for senior Andre Correa to play the hero for the Norse in his final collegiate match. Correa trailed for most of his grueling match against Holger Norregaard, but the senior gutted out a 2-6, 6-3, 7-5 victory to secure the 4-3 match win.

The victory gave the Norse a 7-16 record to finish its first season of Division I competition.
