CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Northern Kentucky University women's soccer team posted its second-straight shutout as it defeated The Citadel, 4-0, Friday night at WLI Field.
The Norse offense was led by redshirt junior
Aubrey Muench who scored a pair of goals on her only two shot attempts of the match.

Brooke Schocker logged 75:53 minutes in goal, while junior
Kelly Neumann contributed 14:07 minutes for the duo's second consecutive combined shutout.
Neumann recorded NKU's lone save in the contest, after the defense held The Citadel to just two total shots. Meanwhile, Northern Kentucky registered 24 total shots, 13 on goal.
NKU's goals came in back-to-back fashion on two occasions in the match, beginning with a goal from Muench on an assist from redshirt senior
Kelsey Zwergel in the 37th minute.
Fifteen seconds after play resumed, NKU (3-0-0) quickly reclaimed possession when sophomore
Macy Hamblin found an open route to the offensive third for an unassisted goal and 2-0 lead.
The second scoring attack of the match came in the second half with a goal from freshman
Brianna Frondorf straight off a corner kick in the 75th minute. Just over a minute later, Muench fired another shot past The Citadel's Abby Koger on a double assist from Hamblin and freshman
Samantha Duwel for the 4-0 result.
The Norse return to action on Sunday when they take on Charleston Southern at 1 p.m. at CSU Soccer Field.
NORSE NOTES:- Three of Northern Kentucky's four goals were scored by non-starters.
- Just three games into her collegiate career, Frondorf has posted five total points after scoring her second goal of the season against The Citadel.
- NKU has registered 80 shots throughout its first three games while holding opponents to a total of 15.
