JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Despite carding a 305 on Tuesday, the Northern Kentucky men's golf team had to settle for a seventh-place finish at the Benbow Invitational hosted by Butler at Jacksonville Beach Golf Course.
 
Jacob Poore posted the low round of the day for the Norse, shooing a 2-over 74. He earned a share of 23^rd (154, +10).
 
Logan Gamm, Clayton Portz and Jacob Brinker posted matching 77s. With rounds of 73-77 (+6), Gamm notched NKU's highest individual finish, tied-17^th. Portz and Brinker shared 26^th after scoring 78-77 in the tournament's two rounds.
 
Matt Wetherill rounded out Northern Kentucky's quintet, netting a share of 33^rd with rounds of 78-79.
 
Competing as an individual, Corey Dulle collected NKU's highest finish. He placed t-14^th with scores of 76-73. Jackson Frame finished t-33^rd (80-77).
 
Florida Atlantic posted a 10-shot victory in the event. Laval University's Baptiste Mory claimed the individual crown at 4-under par (140).
 
NKU remains in Jacksonville, where it will participate in Butler's second-straight tournament, the Bulldog Florida Invitational.
 
Norse Notes

• The Norse opened the tournament on Monday with a team score of 307.
• NKU's rounds of 307-305 mark just the second tournament of the season in which the Norse failed to break 300 in any round of the event. In fact, of the 21 rounds NKU has played this season, 13 have been under the 300-stroke threshold.
