NKU Norse Ball Kids

Ball Kids are an integral part of each and every NKU Athletics home event. Responsibilities as a Ball Kid include shagging loose balls before, during and after games. Ball Kids are needed for men's and women's soccer, baseball, softball, and men's and women's basketball. For their participation, every kid will receive an NKU t-shirt and the ability to get close to the action. In addition to fulfilling the responsibilities described above, all Ball Kids MUST meet the following general job requirements:

1. You MUST be 12 or under
2. You must be able to carry-out verbal instructions given by supervisors.
3. You must pay attention to all con-court/field action throughout the duration of the event.
4. You must arrive on time. If you will be late, or can no longer fulfill the date assigned, please notify the NKU contact promptly.

Soccer Ball Kid FAQ's

1. Can my child individually be a ball kid or does he/she have to participate with their teammates?
Yes. Our primary focus is on having U8-U11 age group teams. We need to fill 5 spots field, but are able to double up each spot, resulting to 10 total ball kids per game. If no team has filled the spots, we can accomodate individual child.
2. What is the dress code and how early should he/she arrive prior to game time?
His/her team uniform or some type of NKU spirit wear. NKU Athletics will provide ball kids with pennies to wear throughout the game. Arrival time is 30 minutes prior to game time.

Basketball Ball Kid FAQ's

1. What exactly will my child be doing as a ball kid for men's and women's basketball games?
We will have 2-3 ball kids at each hoop throughout the game. Duties include: providing water to referees, cleaning/wiping the court during media time-outs, and also when a hard foul occurs.
2. Can my child individually be a ball kid or does he/she have to participate with their teammates?
Yes. We aim to have around 4 to 8 ball kids total for basketball games; placing two to three at each hoop. Rotating ball kids at half-time is encouraged so each child will have the opportunity to sit coutside.
3. What is the dress code for my child and how early should he/she arrive prior to game time?
NKU spirit wear and gym shoes. Arrival time is 30 minutes prior to tip-off.
