One of the most prolific hitters to ever play at NKU, Steenken finished his Norse career with a .416 batting average – the highest in school history. Steenken’s career slugging percentage of .778 is also still an NKU record. He led NKU to a 123-59 record during his career and helped the Norse post a 49-7 mark in 1977 with a No. 7 national ranking. The Montreal Expos later picked Steenken in the 16th round of the 1977 Major League Baseball draft.
