Allison Risley named #HLVB Player of the Week

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Northern Kentucky University Norse women's volleyball sophomore outside hitter Allison Risley was tabbed as a Horizon League Player of the Week on Monday, after she helped the Norse clinch the Horizon League regular season title this past weekend.

"Allison had an awesome weekend, averaging 4 kills and 4 digs per set," said head coach Liz Hart. "Her clutch performance, along with the strong play of her teammates, helped us win our first regular season championship!"

It marked the first conference player of the week award for Risley, who's been one of the top players in the Horizon League in 2025. This week, she had double-doubles in both of NKU's wins over Oakland, going for 13 kills and 17 digs on Friday, and 16 kills and 14 digs on Saturday. In total, she tallied 29 kills, 31 digs, and a .263 hitting percentage in seven sets against the Golden Grizzlies.

This season, Risley ranks inside the top 25 in the Horizon League in hitting percentage (17th, .222), kills (7th, 319), aces (1st, 44), digs (14th, 273), and points (5th, 381).

Risley and the Norse wrap up the Horizon League regular season this weekend at IU Indianapolis. Following that, Northern Kentucky will host the Horizon League Volleyball Championship at Truist Arena from November 21-23.
