HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. –
Kim Nemcek hammered down 16 kills and attacked at a .500 clip Friday night as the Northern Kentucky University volleyball team swept past Wisconsin-Parkside, 25-17, 25-15, 25-15, in Regents Hall.
Nemcek, a junior middle hitter from Geneva, Ill., also added nine digs and two blocks. The Norse improved to 15-6 overall, 6-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Wisconsin-Parkside dropped to 15-7 overall, 3-4 in the GLVC.
Sarah Drennen finished with six kills and five digs for NKU, which attacked at a .258 clip for the match. Freshman setter
Jenna Schreiver collected 25 assists and two service aces as the Norse improved to 29-2 all-time against the Rangers.
NKU used an 8-2 run in the first set to turn a 5-all tie into a 13-7 lead. Wisconsin-Parkside committed four hitting errors during that NKU spurt.
Wisconsin-Parkside hit just .021 for the match and could not contain Nemcek at the net.

NKU battles GLVC-leading Lewis (17-3 overall, 7-0 GLVC) at 3 p.m. Saturday in Regents Hall. The Norse defeated the Flyers twice last season and can move into a tie for first place with a victory on Saturday.
The winner of Saturday's match will also be the top seed for the GLVC in next week's regional crossover with the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference at Lansing, Mich.
Lewis is ranked 13th nationally in the NCAA Division II poll. Lewis also extended its winning streak to 14 straight matches Friday night by sweeping past Bellarmine in Louisville, Ky.
