RENSSELAER, Ind. – Casse Mogan and Brandi Rayburn combined for 45 points and 19 rebounds Saturday afternoon as the Northern Kentucky University women's basketball team extended its winning streak to six with a 71-59 victory at Saint Joseph's.

Mogan finished with 23 points and seven rebounds, while Rayburn added 22 points and 12 rebounds. NKU improved to 15-6 overall, 9-3 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.

Sadie Bowling scored 10 points and dished out five assists for the Norse, who shot 56 percent from the field in the first half to build a 38-25 cushion at the break. Whitney Levering added eight points and eight rebounds for the Norse, who led by as many as 19 points in the first half.

Mogan, a sophomore guard from Circleville, Ohio, has scored in double figures in all 21 games this season. Her conventional three-point play with 2:11 remaining in the game also helped NKU hold off a late Saint Joseph's rally.

After Saint Joseph's (5-16 overall, 3-10 GLVC) cut the NKU lead to 62-57 with 2:40 left, Mogan took a pass from Stephanie Hodges and scored while being fouled. She converted the free throw to extend the Norse advantage to 65-57 with 2:11 remaining. NKU then made six free throws in the final 1:25 to seal the win.

NKU upped its lead in the all-time series with Saint Joseph's to 39-13. Earlier this season, the Norse posted a 70-54 win against the Pumas at Highland Heights, Ky.

Rayburn made all nine of her free-throw attempts Saturday and is shooting a GLVC-leading 93.6 percent from the line. She is 44-for-47 at the charity stripe this season.

NKU returns home to face a showdown against GLVC powerhouse Drury this Thursday at 5:30 p.m. The Norse are 4-4 all-time against Drury but are winless (0-2) at home in that series. Drury is 18-4 overall and owns a 10-1 GLVC record.
