HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. –
Sarah Drennen finished with 12 kills and 15 digs Saturday afternoon to lead Northern Kentucky University to a 25-18, 25-22, 25-10 victory against Saint Joseph's in Regents Hall.
Kylee Tarantino served up three aces and added 13 digs as NKU improved to 16-12 overall, 6-4 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Norse limited Saint Joseph's to a .085 hitting percentage for the match and built a 14-0 lead in the third set en route to the win.
Kelly Morrissey began the third set with a kill to give NKU a 1-0 lead. Morrissey then served up 13 consecutive points for a 14-0 Norse advantage. Morrissey had one ace during the run, while Drennen keyed the spurt with three kills.
Morrissey finished with nine digs and three kills for NKU, which stopped its losing streak at four matches. The Norse bounced back after dropping a heartbreaking five-set decision to No. 19 Indianapolis on Friday night.
Shelby Buschur added seven kills, five blocks and hit .385 for NKU, which is now 37-5 all-time against Saint Joseph's. The Norse have beaten the Pumas 18 consecutive times during the past 10 seasons. Saint Joseph's has not beaten NKU since Nov. 3, 2000, when the Pumas pulled out a five-set decision at Rensselaer, Ind.
Saint Joseph's dropped to 10-13 overall this season, 4-6 in the GLVC.

Jenna Schreiver finished with 31 assists and seven digs.
Katie Sommer added five kills and three blocks for the Norse, who attacked at a .225 clip for the match.
NKU plays a GLVC road match at Illinois-Springfield on Friday. The Norse conclude the road trip Saturday with a match at Quincy.
NKU needs four victories to reach the 20-win plateau for the 18th consecutive season. The Norse have four regular-season matches remaining before starting play in the GLVC Tournament.
