NKU volleyball continues dominance of UW-Parkside with road sweep on Saturday

SOMERS, Wis. – Noelle Peterson recorded 13 kills and hit .357 to lead the Northern Kentucky University volleyball team to a 25-19, 30-28, 25-21 win against Wisconsin-Parkside on Saturday.

Peterson, a native of Milwaukee, Wis., collected the 13 kills in 28 attempts with just three errors as NKU defeated Wisconsin-Parkside for the ninth consecutive time. The Norse improved to 14-8 overall, 5-2 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.

Wisconsin-Parkside dropped to 12-6 overall, 5-3 in the GLVC. The Rangers had four set points in the second stanza, but NKU rallied each time and finished off the 30-28 win on an attack error by Wisconsin-Parkside.

Shelby Buschur and Sarah Drennen each finished with eight kills for NKU, which attacked at a .267 clip for the match. The Norse hit .385 in the third set to close out the sweep and improve to 30-2 all-time against the Rangers.

NKU setter Jenna Schreiver dished out 38 assists, while teammate Kelly Morrissey served up four aces. Kylee Tarantino and Anna Prickel both finished with 12 digs, while Drennen added 11 digs for the Norse defense.

NKU will compete at the GLVC/Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Crossover Oct. 15-16 in Aurora, Ill. The Norse will be the No. 4 seed from the GLVC.

Pairings for the GLVC/GLIAC Crossover event will be announced Sunday night.
