LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Lindsey Kentner made a 3-pointer with 24 seconds remaining in the game to give No. 16 Charleston (W.Va.) a 48-46 win against Northern Kentucky University in the United Electric/Metro Medical Solutions Tip-Off Classic on Friday.

NKU (1-2) had taken a 46-45 lead with 1:46 remaining when Ellen Holton converted a layup. Both teams missed opportunities during the next minute, but Kentner drained a 3-pointer to give Charleston (2-0) the lead with 24 seconds left.

NKU had a final chance to win or tie, but Jaimie Hamlet missed a 3-pointer in the closing seconds. Casse Mogan scored 13 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead NKU, while Sadie Bowling added 11 points.

Holton finished with 10 points for NKU, which shot just 30.8 percent from the field, including 25 percent in the second half. Kelsey Simpson added six points and six rebounds for the Norse.

Kentner scored a game-high 21 points to lead Charleston. The Golden Eagles shot 44.4 percent from the field and were 7-for-18 from 3-point range.

NKU concludes the tournament Saturday by playing Lake Erie at 5:30 p.m. The Norse are 1-0 all-time against Lake Erie.
