HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Pink will be the color of choice in Regents Hall Friday night as the Northern Kentucky University volleyball team plays host to Lewis in the third annual Dig Pink promotion.

First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m. The Dig Pink promotion helps raise money for breast cancer awareness, and breast cancer survivors are invited to attend the match that evening.

Dig Pink T-shirts will be on sale for $10 each, and the first 250 fans in attendance Friday night will receive a free pink Norse bag. All fans are encouraged to wear pink to Friday's match.

NKU also plays host to Wisconsin-Parkside at 3 p.m. Saturday to close out the homestand.

TOP 25 BATTLE: NKU enters Friday with a 19-2 overall record, and the Norse are ranked No. 12 in the latest NCAA Division II poll. Lewis is 16-5 overall, 8-3 in the GLVC. The Flyers are ranked No. 20 in the NCAA Division II poll.

NKU owns a 30-18 lead in the all-time series with Lewis, but the Flyers have beaten the Norse three consecutive times. NKU has not defeated Lewis since the 2008 NCAA Division II Tournament.

THE LAST TIME AGAINST LEWIS: Earlier this season on Sept. 24, Lewis posted a 25-21, 26-28, 25-19, 25-19 win over NKU at Romeoville, Ill.

The Flyers limited the Norse to a .192 hitting percentage for the match. Jen Krumwiede led Lewis with 20 kills and attacked at a .450 clip. Kim Nemcek led NKU with 19 kills and a .533 hitting percentage. Sarah Drennen added 14 kills and attacked at a .281 clip for the Norse.

AGAINST RANKED TEAMS: NKU is 4-1 against nationally ranked teams this season. The Norse have beaten then-No. 19 West Florida, then-No. 20 Indianapolis, then-No. 11 Ferris State and then-No. 25 Northern Michigan. NKU lost to then-No. 22 Lewis.

STREAKING: NKU has won nine consecutive matches entering Friday. The Norse also need one more victory to clinch their 19th straight 20-win season.

NEARING 900: The NKU volleyball program is now 899-400 all-time going into Friday's match. The Norse picked up win No. 899 Wednesday night with a sweep over visiting Urbana in Regents Hall.

In addition, NKU senior outside hitter Sarah Drennen enters Friday with 892 career kills.

THE CENTURY MARK LOOMS: NKU junior libero Kylee Tarantino has 951 career digs. She leads the Norse with 4.41 digs per set.
