HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – After claiming the first regular-season title of any program at Northern Kentucky, the men's basketball team will make its first-ever appearance in the NIT. The Norse await their seeding, which will be determined on Sunday, March 11, but the following is a guide to whet the appetites of Norse Nation in preparation for the remainder of the postseason.
NIT in a Nutshell
The NIT is considered one of the most prestigious tournaments in the nation, which features a bracket of 32 teams. Automatic qualifiers include regular-season champions which did not earn a berth into the NCAA Tournament, and an eight-member selection committee fills in the remainder of the bracket on an at-large basis. From there, the teams are seeded and placed into four eight-team regions.
ESPNU will carry a 30-minute selection show on Sunday, March 11, airing from 8:30-9 p.m., at which point the field and bracket will be released.

March 15-19: Second Round at Campus Sites
