What Steinmetz did this week:  Steinmetz earned Great Lakes Valley Conference co-Freshman of the Year honors Thursday night for her accomplishments this season, including breaking the single-season home run record for the Norse.  She added three homers over four games during the conference tournament to increase her total to 23.  She is now tied for the national lead in that category.  On Friday, Steinmetz went 2-for-4 with two runs, an RBI and her first home run of the tournament as NKU cruised to a 12-2 victory over Saint Joseph’s.  She hit her second home run on Saturday as the Norse overcame an early deficit to eliminate Bellarmine from the tournament.  Later in the day, Steinmetz finished 2-for-4 with a run scored, an RBI and her third homer as the Norse fell to Illinois Springfield.
