The
Northern Kentucky University Dance Team is an integral part of the University and the NKU community. The dancers pride themselves in their goals to provide spirit and support for NKU and to encourage a positive experience on game day. Additionally, the dancers are involved with many activities on campus and in the community.
Each year, the team travels to Wisconsin to attend Universal Dance Association (UDA) Camp. In 2024, the dancers won a gameday superior award, spirit camp superior, and the collegiate recognition award for the first time in program history! The dancers also compete at the Universal Dance Association (UDA) National Collegiate Dance Competition at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.
As the NKU Dance Team, our team takes pride in being a part of NKU Athletics and our university community. Our primary mission is to effectively execute a school spirit program that supports the athletic teams, entertains, and promotes our University. The dancers work countless hours all year round to support other athletic teams while also contributing to our surrounding community.

Recruitment and Tryout Information:
- Each athlete inquiring about participation in our program should attend at least one clinic. There are 3 clinics each season (one in the fall and two in the spring)
- Athletes will be asked to attend our tryouts which typically occur in April. Virtual opportunities are available pending a meeting with the Head coach.
- Each athlete will be asked to dance for the following programs: Volleyball, Men's Soccer, Women's Soccer, Men's Basketball and Women's Basketball.
- Athletes will be asked to attend various on campus and off campus community events.
- Practices will be 3 times a week with workouts included. National practices will be an adjusted schedule.
- Fundraising opportunities are extremely important to help offset costs with dance. Athletes will be asked to work at all HOME Cincinnati Bengals Games.
