KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Northern Kentucky University men's soccer team played Rockhurst to a scoreless draw Sunday afternoon in a battle of squads ranked nationally in the NCAA Division II poll.

Michael Lavric recorded seven saves for NKU, which was coming off a 3-2 overtime setback at Drury on Friday night. That loss snapped a regular-season winning streak of 29 games for the Norse, who are ranked No. 1 nationally in the NCAA Division II poll.
Rockhurst finished with a 10-9 edge in total shots on Sunday. The Hawks had seven shots on goal, while the Norse managed just one on goal. It marked the second time in three seasons the two teams have played to a scoreless draw.
NKU is 7-1-1 overall, 3-1-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Rockhurst, which is ranked 20th nationally, is 7-0-1 overall, 4-0-1 in the GLVC.
NKU will play host to Saint Joseph's next Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at the Town & Country Sports Complex in Wilder, Ky.
The Norse continue their homestand the following weekend with GLVC games against Missouri-St. Louis (Oct. 10 at 7:30 p.m.) and Southern Indiana (Oct. 12 at 2:30 p.m.).
