WILDER, Ky. – Braden Bishop netted a pair of goals Sunday afternoon to lead the Northern Kentucky University men's soccer team to a 4-1 victory against Rockhurst at the Town & Country Sports Complex.

Kevin Donnelly and Steven Beattie also added goals for NKU, which improved to 11-2-1 overall, 8-2 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Norse, who are ranked 15th nationally in the NCAA Division II poll, rallied from an early 1-0 deficit by pouring in three goals before halftime and coasted to the win over the defending GLVC Tournament champions.

Haggai Leboo gave Rockhurst a 1-0 lead at the 26:32 mark by blasting in a shot off assists from Kyle Miller and Mark Anthony Foster. Bishop countered eight minutes later for NKU by finishing off a corner kick by Beattie with a header shot for his fifth goal of the season.

Donnelly scored his first goal of the season in the 38th minute to give NKU a 2-1 lead. Jordan Grant set up Donnelly, who sent a 10-yard shot past Rockhurst goalie Kyle Clawson.

Beattie extended NKU's advantage to 3-1 near the end of the first half by blasting a free kick past Clawson for his 13th goal of the season. Beattie, a junior striker from Skerries, Ireland, now has 45 career goals to rank second in NKU history. Chad Scott scored 46 goals for the Norse and is currently No. 1 in that category.

Bishop capped the scoring at the 83:09 mark by finishing off a breakaway that was assisted by Beattie. Bishop, a senior from Centerville, Ohio, now has six goals this season.

NKU finished with a 17-8 advantage in shot attempts. Norse goalie Michael Lavric notched the win and recorded three saves. A year ago, NKU tied Rockhurst in the regular season and lost to the Hawks in the GLVC Tournament.

NKU hits the road to meet Drury this Friday at Springfield, Mo. Drury is currently unbeaten (12-0) and leads the GLVC with a 9-0 record. The Panthers are also ranked No. 1 in the NCAA Division II Midwest Region poll, while NKU is No. 3.

The Norse conclude the road trip Sunday with a GLVC contest at Missouri S&T.
