WILDER, Ky. – Second-half goals by Braden Bishop and Steven Beattie helped drive the Northern Kentucky University men's soccer team to a 2-0 victory over Quincy on Friday night.

After more than 60 minutes of scoreless soccer, Bishop came alive by taking a feed pass from Stephen McGill and, with a Quincy defender in tow, sent a shot low to the right post from 25 yards out for his fourth goal of the season.

Just more than four minutes later, Beattie struck for his 12th goal, this one off another McGill assist which sent the Skerries, Ireland, native on a breakaway to the Quincy net.

NKU, ranked 15th in the NCAA Division II national poll, dominated play for much of the contest, outshooting Quincy by a 20-6 margin.  Michael Lavric made one save to pick up his third shutout of the season.

NKU improved to 10-2-1 overall and 7-2 in GLVC play. Quincy dropped to 6-5-2, 5-3-1 GLVC.

The Norse close out the weekend with a noon showdown against defending GLVC champion Rockhurst on Sunday.
