SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Steve Wilczewski's second-half goal gave the Drury University men's soccer team a 1-0 win against Northern Kentucky University in the opening round of the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Tournament on Friday night.

Micah Whorton assisted on Wilczewski's goal at the 67:28 mark as the top-seeded Panthers knocked off No. 2 seed NKU (15-6-2) for the second time in less than a week. Drury posted a 1-0 win against NKU last Sunday in the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament championship contest.

Wilczewski, who has 17 goals this season, also netted the winning score against NKU last week in the GLVC Tournament.

Goalie Stephen Conner recorded the shutout for Drury, which improved to 21-1. The Panthers – whose only loss this season is a 2-1 setback to NKU - will meet third-seeded Lewis in Sunday's regional championship game.

Drury ended the Norse's quest for a fourth straight regional championship. NKU had captured regional titles in 2006, '07 and '08. The Norse also advanced to the NCAA Division II Final Four last season.
