Norse men pull out overtime thriller as Montgomery nets two goals Friday.

OWENSBORO, Ky. –
Andrew Montgomery scored a pair of goals, including the winning tally in the 108th minute, as the Northern Kentucky University men's soccer team defeated Kentucky Wesleyan, 2-1, in two overtimes Friday.
Montgomery's winning goal was assisted by
Braden Bishop and allowed No. 2 NKU to remain perfect at 5-0 overall. The Norse are 1-0 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.
It marked the third consecutive one-goal victory for NKU and the second overtime win this season for the Norse. NKU now owns a 25-4-3 all-time record against Kentucky Wesleyan and has not lost to the Panthers since 1992.
Montgomery, a sophomore midfielder from Clonalvy, Ireland, netted a goal in the first half off an assist from
Stephen McGill at the 18:45 mark. Montgomery now has a team-leading five goals this season.
NKU will play host to Bellarmine at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Town & Country Sports Complex.
