FINDLAY, Ohio – Steven Beattie's goal in the 84th minute lifted the Northern Kentucky University men's soccer team to a 1-0 victory over Findlay on Sunday afternoon.

Goalie Michael Lavric made one save to record the shutout for NKU (4-0), which is ranked No. 2 nationally in the NCAA Division II poll. Lavric now holds the NKU career record with 17 shutouts.

The Norse finished with a 15-5 advantage in shot attempts and used Beattie's fourth goal of the season to remain unbeaten.

Beattie's goal came off a direct kick at the 83:10 mark. On Thursday night, the junior striker from Skerries, Ireland, gave NKU a 2-1 overtime win at Southern Indiana when he drilled a 30-yard free kick into the net.

NKU resumes Great Lakes Valley Conference play Friday with a 1 p.m. contest at Kentucky Wesleyan. The Norse return home next Sunday (Sept. 13) to meet Bellarmine at 2:30 p.m. at the Town & Country Sports Complex in Wilder, Ky.
