HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. –
Steven Beattie made his final regular-season home game a special occasion Sunday afternoon by scoring two goals and leading Northern Kentucky University to a 3-0 win against Drury.
Beattie, a senior forward from Skerries, Ireland, netted NKU's first goal in the 33rd minute to give his team a 1-0 lead with a shot from the right side of the box that ricocheted off the left post into the net.
Anthony Meyer assisted on the goal, which was set up after a failed Drury clearance.
Beattie converted a penalty kick after being fouled in the box to extend NKU's lead to 2-0 in the 62nd minute. Fellow NKU senior
Mike Jonca, also playing in his final regular-season home game, capped the scoring in the 65th minute by also converting a penalty kick.

Michael Lavric recorded the shutout and collected one save for NKU, which improved to 10-1-3 overall, 8-1-3 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Norse are ranked No. 5 nationally in the NCAA Division II poll.
Drury, which knocked off NKU by identical 1-0 scores in both the GLVC Tournament and NCAA Division II Tournament last season, dropped to 8-6 overall, 6-5 in the GLVC. NKU is now 5-3 all-time against Drury.
Beattie upped his career total to 62 goals with the two markers on Sunday. He has a team-leading 11 goals this season and a total of 32 points.
NKU's four seniors – Beattie, Jonca, Lavric and
Hunter Robertson – were recognized prior to Sunday's game.
NKU plays a road contest at Missouri-St. Louis on Friday.
