ST. LOUIS – Almin Sabotic scored a pair of goals Friday night to lead the Missouri-St. Louis men's soccer team to a 2-1 upset over No. 5 Northern Kentucky University.

Sabotic struck in the 12th minute to give Missouri-St. Louis a 1-0 lead, and he converted penalty kick early in the second half to extend his team's advantage to 2-0. NKU's Steven Beattie cut the deficit in half at 2-1 by making a penalty kick for his 12th goal of the season, but the Norse were unable to find a tying goal during the final 29 minutes of play.

NKU concludes the road trip Sunday with a contest at Maryville. The Norse wrap up the regular season next Wednesday night with a non-conference road game at Ohio Dominican.

NKU will then host a first-round GLVC Tournament contest Oct. 31 at 2:30 p.m. against an opponent that will be determined after Sunday's games. NKU is currently ranked No. 1 in the Midwest Region poll.
