Lewis, however, took advantage of an NKU mistake late in the first half and pulled out a 2-0 victory against the Norse. NKU, which is ranked No. 4 nationally in the NCAA Division II poll, gave Lewis its first goal with just more than a minute remaining before halftime when the Norse defense failed to clear a shot that resulted in an own goal.

Lewis clinched the victory in the 85th minute when Armin Vrebac netted his fourth goal of the season by finding the back of the net with a shot from 10 yards out.

NKU dropped to 7-1-2 overall, 5-1-2 in the GLVC. Lewis, the defending regional champion, improved to 7-3 overall, 7-2 in the GLVC.

Lewis goalie Sebastian Kieruzal collected the shutout and finished with one save. The Flyer defense limited NKU to just one shot on goal the entire afternoon.

NKU hits the road for a GLVC contest at Rockhurst on Friday. The Norse conclude the road trip Sunday with a game at Quincy.
