NKU men's soccer rallies in second half Friday, settles for 2-all draw at Rockhurst

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Northern Kentucky University men's soccer team played Rockhurst to a 2-all draw Friday night in a Great Lakes Valley Conference contest.

Steven Beattie and Peter Magier scored goals for NKU, which is ranked No. 9 nationally in the NCAA Division II poll. The Norse are 7-1-3 overall, 5-1-3 in the GLVC. Rockhurst is 6-2-2 overall, 5-2-2 in the GLVC.

Rockhurst held a 2-0 halftime lead, but NKU cut the deficit in half in the 52nd minute on Beattie's ninth goal of the season off an assist from Magier on a corner kick. NKU drew even in the 76th minute when Magier sent a six-yard shot into the back of the net for his first goal of the season.

NKU owned a 19-15 edge in shot attempts. Norse goalie Michael Lavric collected one save in 110 minutes of action.

NKU concludes the two-game GLVC road trip Sunday by meeting Quincy.
