MEMPHIS, Tenn. – There was no need for a change in the game plan as the Northern Kentucky University baseball team continued its offensive onslaught from a day prior to slug out a 15-1 victory over Christian Brothers on Sunday afternoon.
Jason Cisper and
Brian Erie each went 2-for-2 on the game as the Norse combined for 14 hits on the contest. With the win, NKU moves to 4-2 on the season.
After giving up a run to Christian Brothers in the bottom of the first inning, NKU answered with five runs in the top of the second frame bookended by two-run hits from
Jake Morris and
Evan McDole. Morris picked up another RBI in the third inning, singling through the left side to score Erie, who later added an RBI of his own in the fourth inning.
The Norse took advantage of four walks, two wild pitches, a passed ball and two Buccaneer errors to plate seven runs in the fifth inning.
Ryan Schmidt (1-1) got his first win of the young season, giving up one run on three hits in four innings of work.

Chase Stewart each threw an inning of scoreless relief.
NKU hits the road once again next weekend, traveling to take on Henderson State for a three-game series in Arkadelphia, Ark. First pitch for Saturday's doubleheader and for Sunday's matinee is set for 2 p.m. Eastern.
