NKU men's tennis loses decision to No. 25 Abilene Christian, 8-1

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - The Northern Kentucky University men's tennis team faced stiff competition on Thursday and came up on the losing end of an 8-1 match against Abilene Christian.

The No. 25 ranked Wildcats (8-5) jumped into the driver's seat early, taking all three doubles matches in convincing fashion.

The Norse picked up some steam in the singles competition with Guillaume Berman taking his winning streak to six matches with a 6-4, 7-5 victory over Luke Hawk in the No. 2 flight.

Lance Koetter battled to a third set in the top flight against Eldad Campbell before an injury forced Koetter to retire.  In the No. 3 flight, Ricardo Weaver fought Bryan Joiner to a 10-8 tiebreaker loss in the second set.

With the loss NKU falls to 3-4 on the season.

The Norse return to action on March 27, opening Great Lakes Valley Conference play against Indianapolis.
