HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky University softball team plays host to Ohio Dominican in a doubleheader Thursday at 3 p.m.

The NKU/Ohio Dominican games can be heard live at www.nkunorse.com.

NKU then hits the road for a pair of Great Lakes Valley Conference doubleheaders at Southern Indiana (Saturday at 1 p.m.) and Kentucky Wesleyan (Sunday at 1 p.m.).

NKU is currently 13-8 overall, 7-2 in the GLVC. The Norse own a five-game winning streak going into Thursday.

OFFENSIVE OUTBURST: The NKU offense generated 18 runs en route to a doubleheader sweep against Missouri-St. Louis on Sunday. The Norse rallied for a 10-8 win in the opener, using a six-run outburst in the sixth inning to pull out the victory. In the nightcap, NKU coasted to an 8-0 win.

Sophomore shortstop Jessica Farris ignited the NKU offense on Sunday by collecting six hits in the two victories. Farris batted .643 for the weekend as NKU won four straight GLVC games. She was named GLVC Player of the Week on Monday.

SOLID SENIORS: NKU senior second baseman Rose Broderick leads the team in batting average (.394) and runs batted in (20). Senior outfielder Stephanie West is No. 1 in the GLVC in sacrifice bunts with 10.

IMPRESSIVE FRESHMAN: NKU freshman pitcher Emily Schwaeble is 4-0 with a 0.84 earned run average. Schwaeble posted two wins last weekend, including a five-inning shutout against Missouri-St. Louis in which she allowed just one hit.
