LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Northern Kentucky University tennis teams each took a step closer to securing postseason bids with victories over Great Lakes Valley Conference rival Bellarmine on Friday. The men took a 7-2 win while the women claimed a 6-3 decision.
Guillaume Berman earned his 10th consecutive singles victory on the men's side, defeating Bellarmine's Nate Matthews, 6-2, 6-0, in the top flight. Berman teamed with
Lance Koetter to take the top doubles match over Matthews and Jacob Knagenhjelm, 8-5.

Jimmy Caccamo each recorded singles victories for the Norse, while Weaver and Fraser teamed to take the No. 2 doubles flight as well, earning NKU's (5-6, 2-1 GLVC East) seven wins on the day.
On the women's side, NKU's (7-4, 4-0 GLVC East) depth won the day again, with the Norse taking the bottom four singles matches and the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles flights.
Maggie Koetter ran her team-best singles record to 8-3, while
Michelle Schirmann's 6-3, 6-0 win over Emily Roebker gave the senior a four-match winning streak.
Whitney Thomas and
Jillian Sturgeon also claimed victories in singles competition.
The NKU tennis teams return to action on April 16 at Saint Joseph's.
