The NKU softball team plays a doubleheader at Urbana on Wednesday.
HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky University softball team plays a non-conference doubleheader at Urbana (9-18) on Wednesday. The first pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.
The Norse then return home to meet defending regional champion Indianapolis at noon Saturday in a Great Lakes Valley Conference showdown. NKU is currently 21-10 overall, 12-3 in the GLVC. Indianapolis is 26-11 overall, 16-4 in the GLVC.
NKU concludes the weekend by hosting Saint Joseph's at noon Sunday. The Pumas are currently 21-14 overall, 8-8 in the GLVC. NKU seniors

Stephanie West and
Sam Del Vecchio will be recognized on Sunday as a part of Senior Day festivities.
NKU is currently No. 7 in the NCAA Division II Midwest Region poll.
LEADING OFF: NKU's
Jessica Farris is fifth in the GLVC with a .410 batting average. Farris, a sophomore shortstop, is third in the GLVC in runs scored with 32.
THE LAST TIME AGAINST INDIANAPOLIS: On May 1, 2009, NKU began the GLVC Tournament by holding on for a 5-4 win against Indianapolis at East Peoria, Ill.
NKU built a 5-0 lead going into the bottom of the seventh inning, but Indianapolis' Jessica Breeden hit a grand slam to cut the Norse advantage to 5-4.
Chelsie Roy relieved NKU starter
April Ehlers and worked out of a jam by getting Indianapolis to line into a game-ending double play.
In the regular season, Indianapolis swept a doubleheader from NKU by scores of 9-3 and 6-1.
