NKU women's tennis takes third straight with 9-0 victory over Southern Indiana

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky University women's tennis team ran its winning streak to three matches with a dominant 9-0 victory over Great Lakes Valley Conference rival Southern Indiana on Friday.

NKU (5-3, 2-0 GLVC East) rolled through doubles play, led by Whitney Thomas and Jenny Hand, who dispatched USI's (6-7, 0-2 GLVC East) Ellena Stumpf and Jodie Petty, 8-0, in the No. 3 flight. Stephanie Isaacs and Jillian Sturgeon ran their doubles record to 3-0 with an 8-3 victory over Lindsey White and Logan Ackerman.

The Norse continued to singles play and did not drop a set, with Kristen Sunday and Michelle Schirmann adding singles victories to their doubles win.

NKU continues its conference weekend on Saturday, hosting Kentucky Wesleyan. Start time is scheduled for 10 a.m.
