SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - The Northern Kentucky University men's tennis team saw its quest for a Great Lakes Valley Conference championship come to an end on Friday with a 5-2 quarterfinal loss to Rockhurst.

NKU is now 6-8 on the season.  Ranked No. 8 in last week's NCAA Division II Midwest Region poll, the Norse will hope for selection to the NCAA Tournament, set to begin next weekend.

NKU's wins on the day came in doubles competition, as the All-GLVC team of Guillaume Berman and Lance Koetter took an 8-5 victory over brothers Ben and Zach Newell in the No. 1 flight while Jimmy Caccamo and Lee Lonergan tasted victory in the No. 3 flight.

The Norse were NCAA Tournament qualifiers in 2009, falling in the first round to Drury, 5-3.
