The IUPUI men's soccer team held on for a 2-1 win against NKU on Sunday.

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky University men's soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision to visiting Indiana-Purdue at Indianapolis on Sunday in an exhibition contest at the NKU Soccer Stadium.
IUPUI struck first at the 34:37 mark when Derek Craig converted a penalty kick after a foul on the NKU defense in the box. The Jaguars extended their advantage to 2-0 at the 57:27 mark when Perez Agaba finished off a rebound shot into the net.
With less than four minutes remaining in the game, NKU's
Shawn Parker cut the IUPUI lead to 2-1 by finishing off a cross from
Ryan Horn. NKU, however, was unable to get another shot in the final three minutes.
NKU finished with an 11-9 edge in shot attempts. The Norse also attempted the only corner kick of the afternoon.
The Norse, ranked 21st nationally in the NCAA Division II poll, conclude their preseason schedule Aug. 28 with another home exhibition contest against Centre at 6 p.m.
NKU begins the regular season Sept. 3 with a home contest against Findlay at 7:30 p.m. Two days later, the Norse open Great Lakes Valley Conference action by hosting Southern Indiana at the NKU Soccer Stadium at 2:30 p.m.
