SOMERS, Wis. – The Northern Kentucky University men's soccer team rallied from a two-goal deficit in the second half Friday afternoon and settled for a 2-all draw against Wisconsin-Parkside at Wood Road Field.

Alex Weber each netted second-half goals for NKU, which is ranked No. 5 nationally in the NCAA Division II poll. The Norse, who held the Rangers scoreless the entire second half and both overtime periods after allowing two early goals, are now 5-0-2 overall, 3-0-2 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.
Wisconsin-Parkside jumped out to a 2-0 lead just 22 minutes into the contest behind goals from Spencer Bursten (2:44 mark) and Jon Bebeau (21:22 mark). The Rangers took that 2-0 lead into halftime.
NKU rallied in the second half as Beattie converted a penalty kick at the 55:32 mark to cut the Wisconsin-Parkside lead to 2-1. It was the sixth goal of the season for Beattie, a senior striker from Skerries, Ireland.
The Norse finally tied it at 2-all when Weber netted his first goal of the season in the 70th minute. Both teams had chances late in regulation but were unable to finish. The defenses controlled both overtimes, and the teams settled for a draw.
Wisconsin-Parkside (4-2-2, 2-2-2 GLVC) finished with a 20-19 edge in shots, but NKU owned a 14-6 advantage in corner kicks.
NKU is now 11-13-4 all-time against Wisconsin-Parkside. The Norse are 6-0-2 against the Rangers in their last eight meetings.
NKU concludes the two-game road trip Sunday with a GLVC contest at Saint Joseph's. The Norse play host to Illinois-Springfield next Friday at 5 p.m.
