RICHMOND, Ky. - The Northern Kentucky University men's tennis team fell to in-state foe Eastern Kentucky, 7-0, to open the 2011 spring season.

The Norse (1-1) could not pick up a set against the Colonels (6-2), who were picked to win the Ohio Valley Conference by the league's coaches.  Tyler Fraser had a close battle in the No. 6 singles flight, but fell to EKU's Joao Maio, 7-5, 7-6 (7-3).

The Norse open the home half of the season next Friday, hosting Union (Ky.) at Beechmont Racquet Club in Cincinnati, Ohio.
