RICHMOND, Ky. - The Northern Kentucky University women's tennis team had an inauspicious start to the 2011 spring season, dropping a 7-0 decision to Eastern Kentucky.

The Norse (0-1) failed to win a set in the contest.  Freshman Claire Spradlin was able to take Milena Poffo to a 7-5 tiebreaker in the first set of the No. 2 singles match, but fell 6-0 in the second set.

NKU returns to action on March 5, kicking off the team's annual spring break trip to Hilton Head, S.C. with a match against Malone.
